The person behind the practice

Hello,
I’m Izzy.

Clinical naturopath, herbalist and iridologist. Mother, smallholder and happiest with my hands among the plants.

My story

A life shaped
by nature.

I grew up with whole foods, time outdoors and simple natural remedies as part of everyday family life. Looking back, I can see how much that shaped me. There was a trust in nature, and in the body’s ability to respond when it was given care, nourishment and time.

That trust has stayed with me, although my own path hasn’t always been a quiet one. In my twenties I worked in the arts, which I loved, but the pace of city life eventually left me burnt out and disconnected. I knew I needed something different, even if I couldn’t quite put my finger on what it was.

I began with yoga, meditation and a growing fascination with holistic nutrition. I read everything I could find, and in 2003 completed my first diploma in holistic nutrition. It was the beginning of a much longer journey, one that would grow alongside my family.

Becoming a mother to my four boys deepened that connection. Natural approaches supported me through pregnancy, birth and the years that followed, and plants became an increasingly familiar part of how we cared for ourselves. My interest in herbal medicine grew from living with it, as well as studying it.

I have a deep respect for the human body and its capacity to repair, adapt and heal. When someone comes to me feeling depleted or out of balance, I’m interested in what their body has been carrying, what may be getting in the way, and what it needs now. Sometimes that begins with herbs; sometimes with more nourishment, better rest or space to breathe. Often, it is a little of each.

Between 2019 and 2024, I had the privilege of supporting over 800 women through individual and group health coaching. Further training in naturopathy, herbal medicine and iridology led me to the clinic and dispensary I run today, where I bring that experience together with traditional knowledge and careful, individual care.

Working with the land keeps that trust in nature very close. I love growing the plants, getting to know them through the seasons, and preparing medicine for the people who come to see me. It is work I feel deeply connected to, and a relationship I hope to help others rediscover too.

Living the
work I share.

I live with my family on a organic smallholding in Buckinghamshire. Away from the clinic, you’ll find me tending herbs, caring for our animals or enjoying a walk and a cup of tea by the fire.

Alongside clinical practice, I lecture, mentor practitioners and facilitate workshops and retreats.

The Hideaway is our private woodland retreat here on the smallholding, bringing the practical tools of my naturopathic work into a space you can experience for yourself: wood-fired sauna, cold-water contrast, breathwork, gentle movement and time in nature. With room to rest and reconnect, it offers a chance to explore these practices with guidance and carry what supports you into everyday life.
